What is dynamic delivery? What does it do?
A.
Delve's dynamic delivery will optimize the users experience by delivering the best possible bitrate based on the users available bandwidth. Low bandwidth users will receive lower bitrates and higher bandwidth users will receive higher bitrates.

How can I test my video quality?
A.
An accurate test of end-user video quality requires the embedding of the video on an actual webpage. Although videos can be previewed in your Delve Networks account, an actual assessment of quality can only be accomplished by mimicking the user's viewing experience.

My video is choppy and does not display smoothly. What can I do to fix this?
A.
Unsmooth video is usually the result of high CPU usage. In order to optimize performance we recommend doing the following:
- Make sure the original video file is encoded to the proper framerate. We recommend using a frame rate of 24 (23.98), 25, or 30 (29.97) frames per second (fps)
- Make sure the flash element WMODE is set to 'window' on your website. Using a WMODE value of 'opaque' or 'transparent' will allow the overlay of HTML elements (such as menus) on your video, however, it will prevent a Flash player from playing with the best quality. If you really need menu items to overlay the video then we recommend using 'opaque'. 'Opaque' is the second best option and will allow video overlays. However, keep in mind that this will NOT optimize the viewing experience of the video

My video is unclear or pixelated. What can I do to fix this?
A.
Unclear video is usually the result of video preparation before upload. We recommend doing the following:
- Make sure the original video file is deinterlaced. Interlaced video is primarily used for television and does not display well on computer screens. If your video is not deinterlaced, you must re-upload a deinterlaced file
- Make sure the orginial video file was encoded using isomorphic (square) pixels and NOT anamorphic (rectangular) pixels. If your video uses anamorphic pixels, you must re-upload an isomorphic file
- Make sure the original file was uploaded with the desired aspect ratio and size. Although it is possible to resize your video after the video is uploaded, it is recommended that the video be uploaded at the desired display size. Subsequent resizing may diminish quality
- Make sure your original video is encoded to an appropriate bitrate. We recommend that a bitrate of at least 1500 kbps be used for HD quality
- Make sure your original video is encoded to an appropriate frame size. If your video is displayed in larger formats than it was originally encoded, artifacting may become visible. A minimum width of 1024 is recommended for videos that are intended to be displayed in full widescreen

My video is buffering. What can I do to fix this?
A.
Buffering is directly related to the quality of the video and the viewers internet connection. Delve's dynamic delivery will optimize the users experience by delivering the best possible bitrate based on the users available bandwidth. However, re-buffering will occur if the viewer's connection is extremely slow or if the viewer has manually selected a bitrate that is beyond the capabilities of their connection. In general, if the majority of your user base uses slow internet connections, we recommend uploading small bitrate files or adjusting your publish settings to limit the delivery to low bitrates only.
